Three days before Colin and I left, Bridget and Laura threw us a going away party. Originally, we had planned on starting out at The Crossing and then heading to Shoes Pub for a late night karaoke session. However, when we arrived shortly after 9pm it was clear The Crossing was already at full capacity, thanks to the NFL playoff game that we had inconveniently forgotten all about. Thirty minutes later, we were still waiting outside as our friends started to arrive. We made a quick game time decision and sent everyone down the block to Bird’s Nest. Thankfully, the rest of the night went off without a hitch. Friends from high school, college, and a handful of my favorite tumblrs were all there to send us off. I cried twice: Once when Catie, my sophomore year roommate and Kappa soul mate, surprised me. Then again, when I had to say goodbye to Abby.
